TOP RATED MOVIES TO LOOK FOR IN 2019

Awards season is upon us, and while we're looking forward to see which of this year's movies are deemed the best by the voting members of the film industry, we're also looking ahead to 2019. From superhero flicks to live-action remakes of the Disney cartoons you loved as a kid, here are 15 of the most anticipated movies of 2019.

1. CAPTAIN MARVEL

Marvel fans will get to see Brie Larson kick some major butt when she takes on the role of Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel for the new phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe on March 8, 2019.

2. SHAZAM!

Shazam! will bring comedy to the DC film universe, as we’ll see Zachary Levi transform into the 14-year-old foster kid-turned adult superhero on April 5, 2019.

3. PET SEMATARY

Another adaptation of Stephen King’s beloved novel Pet Sematary will hit theaters on April 5, 2019, starring Jason Clarke and John Lithgow.

4. AVENGERS 4

The as-yet-untitled fourth Avengers film is only months away, yet we still have no title, no trailer, and no plot summary. Marvel fans have been waiting for this film since Avengers: Infinity War hit theaters last year, and we’ll be waiting until May 3, 2019.

5. POKÉMON DETECTIVE PIKACHU

Ryan Reynolds will take on the comedic role of Pikachu in this upcoming animated film, which hits theaters on May 10, 2019.

6. ALADDIN

The first live-action Disney movie to debut next year will be the remake of Aladdin, which stars Mena Massoud, Naomi Scott, and Will Smith. It's coming to theaters on May 24, 2019.

7. TOY STORY 4

Our favorite childhood story is far from over. You can catch Woody, Buzz Lightyear, Andy, and more when Toy Story 4 debuts on June 21, 2019.

8. SPIDER-MAN: FAR FROM HOME

Next year is going to be a big one for Marvel fans. Tom Holland will be reprising his role as Peter Parker/Spider-Man when Far From Home arrives in theaters on July 5, 2019.

9. THE LION KING

Surely to get in all of our feels, the second live-action Disney film will be the remake of The Lion King, with an extremely star-studded cast consisting of Beyoncé, James Earl Jones, Seth Rogen, Donald Glover, and many more. Don’t miss it on July 19, 2019.

10. ONCE UPON A TIME IN HOLLYWOOD

Quentin Tarantino’s next feature, starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Brad Pitt, and Margot Robbie, comes to theaters on July 26, 2019.

11. IT: CHAPTER TWO

Andy Muschietti’s next installment will conclude Stephen King’s It, as Bill Skarsgård reprises his role as Pennywise, and is joined by Jessica Chastain, Bill Hader, James McAvoy, and more. Catch it on September 6, 2019.

12. JOKER

DC fans have been intrigued with the as-yet-untitled Joker movie since Joaquin Phoenix was cast. Various set photos and videos promise we’ll be in for a scare when it hits theaters on October 4, 2019.

13. THE ADDAMS FAMILY

An animated remake of The Addams Family, starring Oscar Isaac, Charlize Theron, and Chloe Grace Moretz, debuts on October 18, 2019.

14. FROZEN 2

Get ready for more music, cute one-liners, and obsessive fans when Frozen 2 hits theaters on November 22, 2019.

15. STAR WARS: EPISODE IX

Arguably the most anticipated film of next year will be the final installment of the Skywalker Saga. We’ll see Mark Hamill, Adam Driver, Daisy Ridley, Carrie Fisher (through reshoots) and more reprise their Star Wars roles when the as-yet-untitled Episode IX debuts on December 20, 2019.

EASILY BLUR A PHOTO IN PHOTOSHOP CS6

dobe’s Photoshop is a fantastic tool to use when creating, editing or designing images. However, with its incredibly versatile range of functions – figuring out even the most simple of tasks can seem daunting. Since Photoshop is so complex we’ll go over a couple of different methods to achieve your desired background blur results right here.

Blur Tool

Maybe you thought this button was meant to make it rain, but really, the teardrop on your toolbar is the one for the relatively small and non-precise kind of job.

1. Select the image you wish to edit.
2. Click on that raindrop button on your toolbar.
3. Go ahead and select the brush size and stroke at the top of your screen.
4. On the drop-down menu you have the option to choose which area of the image you would like to focus on more. This allows you to lighten, darken, sharpen etc. the image.
5. Now you will choose your blur strength. You can go super subtle (which would allow for more control), or you can do it up with a strong blur. The lower the number the more subtle the tool is.
6. So now, you blur! Hold down your mouse over the parts of the background you would like to alter. Move the brush around in circular like motions (it’s similar to the spray can on the Paint program).
7. Voila. You have created your very own blurred background image. Don’t forget to save it.

There are a lot of other cool things to do in Photoshop. 

Lasso Tool

These tools are handy for a number of reasons, but today we will just focus on how it will let you blur your image background. There are a couple versions of the lasso tool to suit your needs. There’s the regular lasso, polygonal lasso (best if your background has straight edges), magnetic lasso (let Photoshop determine the foreground and background for you – if you feel like giving up the reigns). There is also another, non-lasso related option, the quick mask tool, which is totally freehand and best for super precise selections. If you are impatient, this may not be the best choice. 

Select the image you wish to edit.

1. Click on the lasso tool towards the top of your toolbar. (Hold down your mouse and this will show you the option to use any of the aforementioned three lasso tools.) Or, just type L as a short-cut.
2. Draw around the section of the background you would like to blur. A border around your selection will appear to be moving like little marcher ants. This is a good thing.
3. If you choose to use the quick mask tool, you can find it hiding on your toolbar at the bottom. It looks like someone stuffed a circle into a square. They did.
4. So now that you’ve got this border shuffling around your selection you probably want it to do the blur thing. Go to the top of your screen and select “Filter->Blur”

Types of Blur

There are 9 different styles of blur on Photoshop. Let’s go over them so you can choose the perfect one for you.

1. Average

This blur tool allows you to take the average color inside your selected area and blur it. It creates smooth transitions.

2. Blur or Blur More

Well, this does more or less what it says it’s going to do. Blur. It takes the components from inside your selection and carefully blurs them together. Especially good to use where different colors meet. If you’re looking for a more dramatic effect then select “blur more” which will increase the haze by about three-fold.

3. Box Blur

This blur type reads the average color value of your selection and then of pixels next to your selection. It blends them together to make it a nice smooth, line-free, blur. Tip: A larger radius brush will create a greater blur.

4. Gaussian Blur

This is easy. Use this tool to adjust the amount you want your image to blur. There will be a little pop-up box with a slider to do so.

5. Motion Blur

Trying to make it look like the train was moving even though it’s been inoperable for years? Yeah, motion blur is your guy. This will allow you to adjust the direction and intensity of the background image. It’s like taking a picture out of a moving car.

6. Radial Blur

This is equivalent to the zoom in and zoom out feature on your camera. You can adjust the radial blur from 1 to 100 in addition to using the radial spin or radial zoom options.

7. Smart Blur

This option gives you the ability to be incredibly precise. You can change the radius of the blur for a specific area, which blurs the pixels at a certain distance away; or change the threshold which indicates which type of pixels you want to see blur.

8. Surface Blur

The surface blur keeps the center of the image blurred to your degree of specification, but keeps the edges sharp. Play around with the threshold and radius’ to get different cool effects.

9. Lens Blur

Maybe you want the certain aspects of the background to stay in focus and others to be blurred. This tool will let you achieve the kind of depth of field you are looking for. There are three choices for the lens blur, faster (for faster previews), blur focal distance (adjust the pixel depths) and invert (which inverts the alpha channels of your depth map source).

It’s safe to say you’re probably a Photoshop blur tool pro now. Don’t forget to just play around and have some fun, too!

10. Mesut Ozil (Arsenal)​

Perhaps it's a surprise to see ​Mesut Ozil in this top ten, but the former World Cup winner is in fact the ​Premier League's second best paid player, raking in £1.4m every month. 

The 30-year-old penned his new deal in February 2018, keeping him at ​Arsenal until the end of the 2020/21 campaign, and it's hard to see why he would leave the Emirates if he's making that kind of money in north London. 

Ozil, who has six goals and three assists in all competitions this season, is a player that certainly divides opinion. His on-field demeanour often likened to someone who doesn't care, although his performance earlier in the season against Leicester City proves he a player capable of world-class moments.

9. Kylian Mbappe (Paris Saint-Germain)

Imagine being 20 years old and knowing you're earning £1.5m every month, just for playing the sport you love. Well that's the life ​Kylian Mbappe is currently living. 

It does help that he plays for one of the richest clubs in the world in PSG, who aren't short of a few bob, which has meant they can comfortably afford the current deal he's on.

The World Cup winner has enjoyed an impressive season on a personal level, netting 36 goals in all competitions for the Parisian club this campaign, although his goalscoring efforts have only resulted in PSG winning Ligue 1 when the domestic treble is now considered the bare minimum for them.

8. Alexis Sanchez (Manchester United)

Yes, ​Alexis Sanchez is the Premier League's best paid player at £1.99m-a-week. 

It seems a lifetime ago that the Chilean international was tickling the ivories on the Old Trafford turf in January 2018, as ​Manchester United gazumped their city rivals to sign the forward from Arsenal.

Bet they wished they hadn't now. 

The 30-year-old has found the net just five times in 44 appearances for the Red Devils, with recent reports suggesting ​United are willing to pay £13m to get Sanchez off their books this summer - putting an end to a torrid time for all concerned.

7. Philippe Coutinho (Barcelona)

It's our first visit to La Liga now and we find Philippe Coutinho making the very tidy sum of £2m every month at Camp Nou.

The former ​Liverpool man became the third most expensive player in football history when he completed the move in January 2018 for £142m, although things haven't quite worked out the Brazilian.

Despite his struggles, Coutinho could still finish this season by winning a treble, with La Liga already won, and he was part of the ​Barcelona side that put three past his former club in their recent Champions League semi-final first-leg.

6. Gareth Bale (Real Madrid)

It's Barcelona's fierce rivals ​Real Madrid who make their only entry on the list in the shape of ​Gareth Bale's £2.2m monthly wage.

The Welshman has endured a mixed time of things at the Santiago Bernabeu since his then world record £85.3m move from Tottenham in 2013, with the winger subjected to intense scrutiny for his displays by virtually everyone connected to the club. 

Despite this, the 29-year-old has won no fewer than 14 trophies at Los Blancos - including four Champions Leagues - while his tally of 102 goals in 231 games for the club points to successful stint in Spain; one that may come to an end this season. 

Monthly salary: £2.2m

Yearly salary: £26.4m

5. Luis Suarez (Barcelona)

Into the top five now and it's Barcelona's ​Luis Suarez up next, who has been swimming in money since his switch from Liverpool in 2014. 

After signing a contract extension in 2016, that will see him remain at Camp Nou until 2021, it's  the polarising Uruguayan forward now earns £2.5m-per-month. 

His goal touch, along with his reputation, travelled with him from England to Spain, as Suarez has netted 177 goals in 246 games; which is why he's considered one of the best strikers in world football.

4. Neymar (Paris Saint-Germain)

It was only a matter of time before we saw football's most expensive player appear on this list, although ​Neymar fails to make it into the top three due to him earning only £2.7m-a-month. Only.

The 27-year-old, who commanded a £198m transfer fee to move from Barcelona to PSG in 2017, has scored 49 goals in 56 games for the Parisian club so far, while he's won every trophy possible for the club except the Champions League - which he won during his time at Barça. 

Despite being contracted to PSG until 2022, it hasn't stopped the Brazil international being linked with a move away from France's capital, and he ​could be available for €170m next summer due to a clause in his current contract.

3. Antoine Griezmann (Atletico Madrid)

Taking the bronze-medal position in this list of extraordinary wealth is ​Atletico Madrid's superstar Antoine Griezmann, who's currently pocketing £2.9m-a-month on his current deal at the Wanda Metropolitano. 

The 28-year-old's contract extension came in the summer of 2018, as the Frenchman opted to stay in Spain's capital rather than join Barcelona, with him letting the footballing world know through a video titled 'The Decision'.

The World Cup winner has been at Atleti since 2014, and has scored 133 goals for the club - although Barcelona's continued interest in the forward has cast doubt regarding his future.

2. Cristiano Ronaldo (Juventus)

It was only ever going to be two players at the top of this list, and it's ​Cristiano Ronaldo who has to settle for second place.

His summer move from Real Madrid to ​Juventus certainly sorted Portugal's all-time leading goalscorer out financially, with the forward earning an astounding £4.1m every month, on a deal running until 2022.

The 34-year-old's place in footballing history is already confirmed, whether it be for his five Ballon d'Or titles, being Real Madrid's all-time leading goalscorer or scoring the most Champions League goals in history.

1. Lionel Messi (Barcelona)

Who else. If Cristiano Ronaldo is second on a list, it usually means that ​Lionel Messi is going to be number one, and that proves to be the case once again due to him earning £7.3m every month. 

That's a lot of money admittedly, but due to the amount of joy he supplies the footballing world on an almost regular basis, most people will make an exception for a player many consider the greatest of all time. 

His last contract extension came in 2017, although it looks as if Messi will remain at Barcelona until the end of time, such is his importance to the side. At 31, the five-time Ballon d'Or winner has shown no signs of slowing down and there is likely plenty more to come.
